How Sake Selector Works – Supplier Partnerships and How Pricing Works

How Sake Selector Works – Supplier Partnerships and How Pricing Works
At Sake Selector, every product we offer is directly connected to the Australian Sake Festival. We work exclusively with festival exhibitors to bring you authentic, high-quality sake.
Direct Sourcing from Festival Exhibitors
Sake Selector does not source from general wholesalers or external networks. Every bottle on our platform is procured directly from the suppliers who exhibit at the Australian Sake Festival. These suppliers include sake breweries, importers, and distributors operating in Australia.
We work closely with them to ensure that only officially approved and festival-linked products are offered on our site.
Why We Use “Waiting from Stock,” Not “Sold Out”
On Sake Selector, you’ll notice we use “Waiting from Stock” instead of “Sold Out.”
This is because many of our products are not permanently unavailable. They are simply awaiting restock from our suppliers. Since we don’t hold large amounts of stock and instead source products as needed, temporary gaps in availability may occur. In these cases, the product is not discontinued, and we plan to make it available again once restocked.
Pricing and Supplier Relationships
Our pricing is based on the wholesale rates provided by each supplier, and those rates may fluctuate from time to time.
Factors that may affect pricing include:
- Changes in import costs and logistics
- Currency exchange rate shifts
- Supplier-side price adjustments
- Seasonal product availability
Due to this model, some items may see occasional changes in their retail price on our platform. These changes reflect real supplier pricing and are not the result of arbitrary markups.
Transparency and Trust
We are committed to maintaining transparency in how we operate. Our goal is not only to offer a convenient way to purchase Japanese sake, but also to support the exact exhibitors who bring their products to life at the Australian Sake Festival.
By purchasing through Sake Selector, you are directly supporting those businesses — and gaining continued access to festival-quality sake throughout the year.
If you have any questions about availability, pricing, or shipping, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
